    About the Opportunity


    Digital Management, LLC (DMI) is currently seeking to hire a Junior Unix Administrator to provide support for a Federal customer in the Columbus, OH.


    Provides system administration of the UNIX/Linux/Solaris Operating Systems. Installs systems software/hardware products and provides maintenance to all servers. Provides performance monitoring, administers security, reviews and mitigates security findings. Must be able to support virtualization (ESXi, VMware), troubleshooting issues, backups and restores, infrastructure performance and monitoring tools, and some scripting.



    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Plan, install, build, manage, support, configure and test server infrastructure components and connectivity
    • Provide primary system administration including account and profile setup, configuration, and troubleshooting of the Linux and Unix environments and performance issues
    • Maintain server security in compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) and supporting vendor requirements
    • Perform 24x7 on call duties on a rotation basis with the other system administrators
    • Analyze Unix/ Red Hat Linux, Solaris, HP-UX systems, check processes and log files, and retrieve and review information contained within logs for troubleshooting
    • Monitor and troubleshoot backups, scheduled Cron jobs, and be able to monitor systems and processes and take proactive action
    • Provide consulting services and support for release package testing, installation and deployment of system software
    • Provide troubleshooting and technical support services for server infrastructure infrastructures
    • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the user of computing resources
    • Perform proactive capacity planning, including CPU and disk, for short term and long-term trend analysis, ensuring that all server infrastructure devices are monitored for capacity, availability, and stability. 
    • Demonstrate the ability to time-manage and prioritize, take a proactive approach to improving services, and have an innovative and keen interest in learning new technologies
    • Analyzes user requirements and statistics to identify trends and resolve performance issues
    • Define and integrate current best practices (technical, security, process) in server infrastructure solution analysis and definition. 
    • Coordinate regularly with management on solution plans and status


    Education and Years of Experience:

    • 0 to 2 years experience

    Required Skills/Certifications:

    • Ability to obtain Security+ CE certification within 30 days of accepting offer (will be reimbursed for passing)
    • Must have experience with Unix Systems and be comfortable with CLI and accessing log files

    Physical Requirement(s): 

    • Ability to lift 50 lbs

    Additional Requirements: 

    • Being eligible to obtain Secret SSBI security clearance is required
